Chapter 5 summary
CHAPTER 5
- There is a discussion between Krishna and Arjuna about what to choose- stopping all actions or leaving out the results to Krishna.
- Krishna says both are same, but prefers the latter because it completely matches all of His principles which actually go around devotion only.
- As per Krishna, simply leaving out activities but not involved in devotion can never make one happy.
- When he is controlling the mind, he becomes not only dear to Krishna, but also to everyone around.
- Even though he may be working all the time, he is never entangled.
- A person in Krishna’s mood and mode knows that all actions in a person’s day-to-day life like seeing, hearing, breathing etc are being done by the three modes of nature, satva, rajo and tamo and he is away from them.
- One who does all duties without attachment surrendering results to Krishna for purification, is unaffected by any reaction and his path becomes that of liberation.
- A sage who is in equanimity and sameness, sees Krishna in a cow, Brahmana and dog-eater also. Such a person conquers birth & death.
- A person who is neither too happy to get some desirable result nor worries on getting unpleasant things, knows the science of God and is already in divine mood.
- If a person becomes free from fear anger and desire, he is in a liberated stage. If he knows that Krishna is the boss of all the universes, enjoyer of all tapasyas and sacrifice, is the well-wisher of all living beings, gets perfect peace of mind.
